Add a Cloud9 user to a group

Assigning a Cloud9 (C9) user to a trading group is a critical administrative step. In the Cloud9 platform, users inherit access to all connections (such as Shoutdowns, Ringdowns, and Hoots) that are assigned to their respective groups. Until a user is assigned to at least one group, they will not be able to view or utilize firm connections.

Admins can assign groups to users individually:

Add a user to a group via the user account

If a user account already exists and you need to add this user to a new or additional trading group, you can edit their user account.

  1. Log in to the Cloud9 Admin Portal.
  2. Select the Users tab in the left navigation pane.
  1. Hover over the user’s row in the table, then select the Edit user details button .

  1. At the top of the Edit User page, click the Edit Groups button.

  1. On the Edit Groups page, locate the Groups in User's Firm table on the left side, which lists all available groups.
  2. Select the group you want to assign to the user and click the Add Group to User button. You can add a group at a time. The selected group will be added to the right-side table.
  1. Click Done in the bottom-left corner of the screen to save your changes.

Edit a single group to add users

You can manage the members of a group in bulk from the Groups tab,

  1. Select the Groups tab on the Cloud9 Admin Portal.
  2. Hover over a group in the Groups table and select the Manage Users button .

  1. Select the checkboxes next to users you want to add or remove from the group. If you want to select all users in the group, select the checkmark box in the column header.
  2. Click the Add Users button to add the selected user(s).


Edit groups in bulk to add users

  1. Navigate to the Groups page and select one or more groups to update using the checkboxes provided in the table.
  2. From the Actions dropdown menu, select Add Users to Group(s).
  1. In the table that displays, check the users to be added to the selected groups. The selected users are shown in a separate table to the right. 
  1. Click the Add button.
  2. Click Yes to confirm in the Add Users to Group popup window.

The selected users are added to the group(s). The process of adding users to each group may take some time to complete; a green popup notification is displayed when completed.
