If you tried to add a user to a connection, but you couldn't find this user when editing that connection, this is probably because the connection is assigned to a group to which this user doesn't belong. If the user is in "group B", you won't be able to find them when editing a connection assigned to "group A".
The reason for this is that, in terms of Cloud9 Admin Portal hierarchy, admins manage a firm by establishing first the firm configuration features, then creating groups of users in order to provision and manage their trading groups. Finally, they create connections they assign to these different groups of users. Users belonging to a group can access all connections assigned and get any connection invitation sent to that group.
To add a user in group B to a connection of group A, you will edit the group A to add the user from group B.
- Select the Groups tab
on the Cloud9 Admin Portal.
- Hover over a group in the Groups table and select its Manage Users button
.
- Click the Add Users button.
- Search and select the user.
You are back on the Edit Group page and the user has been added to the group A.
- Select the Connections tab to verify the connection you wanted to assign to this user is assigned to this group.
You can now edit the user to add this connection to their button layout.
- Select the Users tab.
- Hover over the user's account in the table and click Edit Buttons
.
- Search and select the connection to add it to the button layout of the user.
