Enable expression filters

Expression filters reduce the risk of your employees creating inappropriate content and affecting the reputation or compliance of the company.

Native expression filters are available for all Symphony Messaging instances, whilst expression filters V3 requires on-premises SymProxy installation and coordination with your internal Symphony Messaging Admin.

One example of an expression filter is profanity filtering. This functionality can be enabled for other users by a Super Administrator in the Symphony Messaging Admin Portal.

To enable expression filters:

  1. In Symphony Messaging, select the Settings icon.

  1. Select Admin Portal. This option is only available if you're a designated Administrator with Symphony Messaging Admin Portal access.
  2. Select Begin Session.

Note: Session Objective and Comments are optional fields and are not required to access the Symphony Messaging Admin Portal.

  1. Search for the user you want to enable expression filtering for, and select the Expression Filter Policy Management checkbox in the Role section. The user who has been granted the Expression Filter Policy Management role will now see the Expression Filter menus when they log in into the Admin Portal and will be able to configure expression filters as required.

Note: Users with a Super Compliance Officer (SCO) role need to be assigned to a scoping group before they can see the expression filters option(s) available in the Admin Portal.
