Symphony Messaging users can set their your presence status to let others know their availability from their profile picture in the bottom left corner of Symphony Messaging. See the help article Set your presence status for detailed information.
If you are a Symphony Messaging user who is entitled to any Federation channels, such as WhatsApp, WeChat, SMS, LINE, or SMS & Voice Direct, you can let your Federation contacts know you are out-of-office from Symphony Messaging by sending them an automatic reply when they try to contact you in your absence.
- Select your profile picture in the bottom left corner of Symphony Messaging.
- Select Set duration.
- Select Out of office in the Status dropdown menu of the Set duration modal.
- Set the date of your return.
- Toggle on Auto-reply for other channels.
- Select the Federation channels you want to send automatic replies to in your absence (available options are based on your Federation entitlements). The Auto-reply preview section shows the automatic reply your Federation contacts might receive.
- Select Save to apply your presence status for the selected Federation channels.
Automatic replies are sent to any contact who tries to reach you in the Symphony Messaging chat on the desktop and mobile app, and in their WhatsApp, WeChat, SMS, LINE, or SMS & Voice Direct app with the message:
“[First name, Last name] is out of office until [Day, Month, Year], (UTC +[hours]”
- The date and time are only displayed if specified, with the time being displayed in the Symphony Messaging user’s local time zone.
