Cloud9 allows users to manage their own personal contacts and speed dials directly from the desktop ap, eliminating the need for administrative assistance.
Creating a new contact
To add a contact:
- Click the Community button in the left navigation bar.
- Select the Contacts tab and click the Create Contact button.
Enter the contact details and phone information:
- First Name (required)
- Last Name (required)
- Telephone Number and Phone Type (Business, Home or Mobile)
You can add up to three phone number for a contact by clicking the + ADD A NUMBER button and will need to set one as the default phone number.
Creating a speed dial
You can assign a speed dial during contact creation.
Select the page where the speed dial button will appear on your button layout.
If multiple softphone lines are configured, set as your preferred line the one the call will originate from.
Sharing contacts with the community
You can control the access to your contacts and set each one to be visible or not in the Community:
Set the Visible To field to control who can access and use the contact:
- Only Me: Keep your contact private and visible only to you.
- Groups and Individuals: Share your contact with specific trading groups or selected users within your organization.
- Everyone in My Firm: Make your contact visible to all users across your firm.
- Click Create.
Add an existing contact as a speed dial
To add an existing contact as a speed dial button to your button layout:
- Click the Community button in the left navigation bar.
- Select the Contacts tab.
- Search for your contact and click the ADD button next to their name.
- In the Add a Speed Dial popup window, review or update the Button Label and select the desired Page for placement.
- Click Submit to add the speed dial to your layout.
