Users have the option to sort chats by most recent or alphabetical order.
To do this, navigate to the three dot menu above the chat list, select Sort list and then choose By recent activity or By name (Figure 1):

Another way to see a feed of chats by recent activity is using the Activity Feed. Navigate to the same three dot menu and select Activity Feed to see all incoming messages (Figure 2):

Then use the filter options available to see a specific subset of messages/folders (Figure 3):
