Connection Approval

Cloud9 Firm Admins can control your Cloud9 connections. For shoutdown, ringdown, and peer-to-group intercom connections, you will only be able to call your peers after the connection has been approved by your Firm Admin. Peer-to-peer intercom connections don't require any request for approval.

When you receive an invitation from an internal or external group, you see a red badge on the Community icon in the Cloud9 navigation bar.

For each new connection, you can choose where you want to position and how you want to name the connection on your button layout, then you will need to send a request for approval to your admin.

A pending button appears as a gray box with the mention "Awaiting approval" below the button label. You cannot use a pending button, but you can move it around in your layout.

  • If an admin approves the connection associated with the call button, the pending button automatically becomes a usable button.
  • If an admin rejects the connection for use, the pending button is removed from your layout and you must request the connection again to add it back to your layout. 
  • A pending button can be deleted by the requester at any time, however, this does not remove the original request. If the request is approved, you can immediately add the connection to your layout via the Connections page.

Requesting a connection approval following an inbound invitation

  1. Select the Community icon in the navigation bar.
  2. Select the New Invitations tab.
  3. View the shoutdown, ringdown, or peer-to-group intercom invitations.
  4. Click the REQUEST button.
  5. Enter the button label.
  6. Select the desired page from the Page dropdown menu.
  7. Click the SUBMIT button.
  8. Click the Close button in the top right corner to close the New Invitations screen.

The connection will appear as pending on your main button layout until it is approved by your admin.

Requesting a connection approval from the My Connections page

You can add connections to your button layout from a list of available Group or Intercom connections that, alike received connection requests, must be approved by your Firm Admin.

  1. Select the Community tab in the navigation bar.
  2. Select the Connections tab.
  3. Select Group Connections or Intercom Connections.
  4. Select the ADD button next to a desired connection.

  1. Click the SUBMIT button.

Your request will appear as pending. 

  1. Click the Close button in the top right corner to close the My Connections page.

Your provisioned button will appear as pending until accepted and approved.

Outbound group connection invitations

You can send a connection request to groups in another firm that, alike received connection requests, must be approved by your Firm Admin.

  1. Select the Community in the navigation bar.
  2. Select the Create Invitation tab.
  3. Select the C9 Community tab.
  4. Select a firm in the Firm Name column.
  5. Select a group in that firm and click the Invite button.

From: Group the user wants to create the connection from.

Connection Type: Shoutdown or Ringdown connection

  1. Click the SUBMIT button.
  2. Click the Close button in the top right corner to close the Create an invitation screen.

Your provisioned button will appear as pending.

Peer-to-group connection invitations

You can send connection requests to other groups in your firm that, alike received connection requests, must be approved by your Firm Admin.

  1. Select the Community in the navigation bar.
  2. Click the Create Invitation tab.
  3. Select C9 Intercom.
  4. Select the group or multiple users in the Groups and Users column.
  5. View users or groups added to the Invitation table on the right.
  6. Click the Invite button.
  7. Set the connection settings:

  1. Click the SUBMIT button.
  2. Click the Close button in the top right corner to close the Create an invitation screen.

Your provisioned button will appear as pending.
