The SDA AutoUpdate feature allows you to update the SDA to its latest version, including Chromium. This feature can only be enabled by the Symphony team. Please reach out to your Technical Account Manager to enable it.
When AutoUpdate is enabled, the SDA checks for the latest version update on the server. If the version can be updated, the SDA downloads the version in the background you and notifies you that an update is available through a green banner at the top of the desktop application. You can choose to install that version now or later.
Run the SDA update from the banner
- Select INSTALL to install the SDA update.
If you select NOT NOW, you’ll be prompted upon the next system check that you can run an update.
You can hide the banner with the DISMISS button.
When AutoUpdate is active, the SDA will try to upgrade when you close the app. If this is not possible because of, for example, missing admin rights or forced shutdown, the SDA will try to upgrade on app launch.
Manually check for updates
You can also manually check for a new version and update the SDA using the Check for updates option.
On Windows
- Select the hamburger menu in the top left corner of the SDA.
- Select Help and Check for updates.
On macOS
- Select the Symphony menu.
- Select Check for updates.
