Configure a mono headset to play on both sides

A specific Windows audio setting enables you to configure your mono headset to hear sound from both sides.

 

Windows 11

  1. On your Windows computer, enter "sound settings" in the search field of the Start menu.
  2. Select Sound settings in the results.

  1. Turn on the Mono audio option.

  1. Check the output device to use under Choose where to play sound.
  2. Select More sound settings in the Advanced section to set the audio balance.
  3. Select the device in the Sound window and select Properties.

  1. Select the Levels tab and adjust the combined left and right channels.

Windows 10

  1. On your Windows computer, enter "sound settings" in the search field of the Start menu.
  2. Select the Windows Start button , then select Settings.
  3. Select Accessibility, then Audio.
  4. Turn on the Mono audio option.
  5. Select the output device to use.
  6. Select Device properties.
  7. Adjust the Balance for the left and right channels.
