Teams-certified headsets are designed with system-wide integration features, which means:
-
Muting your microphone in Microsoft Teams also mutes your microphone in Cloud9.
-
This causes audio disruptions or compliance recording failures in Cloud9.
This is due to the way Teams-certified devices manage audio, by linking microphone controls across all apps using the same input channel.
To avoid this conflict and ensure both apps work independently, your headset must:
- Allow independent microphone control — so that muting in one app doesn’t affect the other.
-
Support dual audio routing — allowing two different applications (Teams and Cloud9) to use the microphone and speaker simultaneously.
-
Be software-agnostic — not relying on Microsoft Teams integration features.
