Create WhatsApp chat rooms

Start a one-to-one chat

From the Symphony Messaging client app

1. Select the menu icon to access the New Chat menu.
2. Search for a WhatsApp contact and select their name from the search.
3. Select the Chat button to start a chat with the contact.

From the Symphony Messaging mobile app

1. Tap the icon to access the New Chat menu.
2. In the search bar, start typing either the name of a WhatsApp contact, or a phone number.
3. Tap on the contact name or the phone number to start a chat.

Create a WhatsApp group chat

From the Symphony Messaging client app

1. Select the menu icon, then select the Create WhatsApp Group Chat link.
2. Search for the contacts you want to add to the group chat.
3. Enter the name of the group chat.
4. Select Create. The chat is created and you can start communicating with the group members.

From the Symphony Messaging mobile app

1. Tap the three dot menu, then select Create group.
2. Select WhatsApp.
3. Search for the contacts you want to add to the group chat, including at least one WhatsApp contact.
4. Enter the name of the group chat and tap the checkmark icon. The chat is created and you can start communicating with the group members.
