During the installation of the Symphony Messaging Desktop application (SDA) version 9 or above, using a Symphony instance URL that is different from the instance URL used on a day-to-day basis can cause issues displaying an incorrect presence status.
To resolve this, the SDA must use the correct instance URL in the contextOriginUrl parameter in the Symphony Messaging configuration file. This parameter allows users to whitelist a specific instance URL. Only the whitelisted web page can communicate with the SDA, removing the root cause of the incorrect presence status.
Amend the contextOriginUrl parameter in the Symphony Messaging configuration file:
- Open the Symphony Messaging configuration file.
- Amend the contextOriginUrl parameter to your Symphony Messaging instance URL.
-
- companyabc is the name of your Symphony Messaging instance.
- Save the configuration file and close it.
- Restart Symphony Messaging and check the presence status is working correctly.
If the issue persists after you reopen Symphony Messaging, please contact the Symphony Support team at support@symphony.com and inform them that you are experiencing issues with your presence status.
