Notifications

You can set your mobile app to receive notifications from specific types of events: from direct messages, rooms and group chats, mentions, wall posts, and signals.

You won't receive any notifications from chats you muted.

Events and time

Priority notifications

Priority notifications are independent from general settings so you will always receive notifications from the people and rooms in this list. You can add internal or external people, as wells as bots.

To set priority notifications:

  1. Turn on the Allow priority notifications option:
    • Allow priority notifications OFF: You will no longer receive priority notifications, but your list of people/rooms is kept.
    • Allow priority notifications ON: Your list of people/rooms is restored and you can edit it.

  1.  Tap Select people or rooms to search for the people and chats (internal or external) you want to include on your priority notification list:
    • People added to your list: You receive all notifications from those contacts, including direct messages, messages in chat rooms and group chats, wall posts, and signals.
    • Room or group chat added to your list: You receive all messages sent in those chats.
  1. Tap SAVE in the top right corner of your screen.

Push notifications

Quickly see the messages you receive with message preview in your push notifications, even if you are not actively using Symphony Mobile. You can choose if you want the preview to appear before or after your phone is unlocked (controlled by your mobile device settings).

  • This feature must be activated by your Symphony administrator. Your administrator can also apply some compliance policies to these mobile notification settings. Your settings supersedes administrator configuration only if more restrictive.

Push notifications set to Show but hide content. For illustration purposes only, design may vary depending on OS version, devices or other settings.

  2. Tap their name in the list.

When the message is sent, the person @mentioned will receive an alert in their Notifications. Likewise, if someone @mentions you, it will appear in your notifications.
