Deactivate user accounts

This article provides guidance on how to deactivate Symphony Messaging user accounts.

Note: The deactivation of accounts via the Bulk Manage Accounts feature from the Admin Portal is not supported.

Two options are available:

  1. Manually deactivate user accounts one-by-one through the Admin Portal; see Deactivate a user account
  2. Use the Symphony REST APIs to deactivate user accounts in bulk by updating the user status; see Symphony REST APIs - Update User Status.

    To use this option, you need a Service Account/Bot to perform this action. Please refer to your internal development team and share the Symphony Dev Docs - Getting Started with BDK documentation with them to set up a script in the Bot Development Kit (BDK) in Java or Python.
