Enable new room members to view conversation history

To avoid sensitive information disclosure, companies may disable conversation history for new members added to external rooms.

Enable history sharing for external and internal chats

For use cases where new members need to have access to the conversation history before joining the room (for example, in order for them to be able to resolve an issue), a Symphony Messaging admin needs to enable history sharing for both external and internal chats:

  1. In Symphony Messaging, select the Settings icon.

  1. Select Admin Portal. This option is only available if you're a designated Administrator with Admin Portal access.
  2. Select Begin Session.

Note: Session Objective and Comments are optional fields and are not required to access the Admin Portal.

  1. Navigate to Company Settings > Edit Entitlements.
  2. Select the following instance-level entitlements:
    1. Enable View Conversation History for Private Internal Chat Rooms
    2. Can create external room with Share History

Enable toggling history sharing from room settings

History sharing can be enabled and disabled from the room settings. This feature needs to be enabled by a Symphony Messaging admin:

  1. On the Edit Entitlements tab in Company Settings, go to the Feature Entitlements section.
  2. Set Can Toggle Room's Share History Property to Enabled for Global Setting and Yes for New User Default.
