In Cloud9, Non-Multicast Hoots (NMH) allow administrators to set up Hoot connections for up to 800 subscribers without the need for any on-prem customer infrastructure requirements.
A NMH differs from a Multicast Hoot in that a NMH connection utilizes Selective Forwarding Unit (SFU) technology. SFUs are cloud infrastructure provided by Cloud9 which support large Hoots with more than 50 users on a connection.
Note: Because Cloud9 provides underlying infrastructure to support these connections, an additional cost is incurred.
Additionally, a NMH can be linked with an SBC Trunk to support two-way audio with a private wire source. Please contact the Cloud9 Support team if you require a Hoot connection to be linked to an SBC Trunk.
