How to change the time limit for message removal

Users can remove their own messages from an internal chat room if the Can suppress own messages entitlement is enabled at instance and user level. If desired, you can also set a time limit on how long users are able to remove a message after they have sent it.

Note: This feature is only available in Symphony version 20.3.3 or above.

Change the time limit for message removal by following these steps:

1. In Symphony, select the Settings icon (Figure 1):

2. Select Admin Portal.

Note: This option is only available if you're a designated Administrator with Admin Portal access.

3. Select Begin Session.

Note: Session Objective and Comments are optional fields and are not required to access the Admin Portal.

4. Navigate to Edit Entitlements under Company Settings (Figure 2):

5.  Navigate to User Message Suppression under Pod-Level Entitlements, enable Time limit for message suppression (minutes) and enter the desired time limit (Figure 3):

6. Select Save.
After sending a message, users will be able to remove it within the set period of time. They will no longer be able to remove the message after that period (Figure 4):
