Enabling expression filters

Expression filters reduce the risk of your employees creating inappropriate content and affecting the reputation or compliance of the company. One example is profanity filtering. This functionality can be enabled on the Admin Portal by a Super Administrator.

1. In Symphony, click Settings in the upper right-hand corner, then click General (Figure 1):

Note: Alternatively, navigate to https://companyabc.symphony.com/?admin as an administrator (where companyabc is the name of your pod)

3. Search for the user to be granted access to this functionality and then select the Expression Filter Policy Management checkbox (Figure 3):

4. The user that has been granted the Expression Filter Policy Management role should now see the Expression Filter option(s) when logging into the Admin Portal (Figure 4):

Note: The native Expression Filters is available for all pods, while Expression Filters (V3) will require on-prem Symproxy installation and co-ordination with your Solutions Architect/Technical Account Manager

Note: Users with a Compliance Officer/Super Compliance Officer role will need to be assigned to a Scoping group before seeing the Expression Filters option(s) available in the Admin Portal. Refer to the Knowledge Article found here on how to assign an SCO to a Scoping group
