How to: Create External Connections as a Firm Admin in Portal

Requirements: 

• Firm Admin Role
• Near end group name
• Far end group name
• Button Type (Ringdown or Shoutdown)
• Near end button label 
• Far end button label

Instructions:

1. Navigate to Cloud9 Administration Portal and login.
   
   
2. Click "Connections" on the navigation panel.
   
   
3. Click "Add Connection".
   
   
   
   
4. Fill out applicable fields
   • Counterparty Type: External
   • Record Connection: Match User Preference
   • Create Connection From: Near end group name
   • Create Connection To: Far end group name
   • Connection Type: Button Type
   • My Firm Button Label: Near end button label
   • Remote Firm Button Label: Far end button label
     
     
     
     
5. Click "Add Connection". 
   
   
6. Adding button to users layout
   • Option 1 - Does not require user to relog into Cloud9 application
     
     • Instruct the far end and near end trader to accept the invitation in their "New Invitations".
   • Option 2 - Requires near end trader to relog into Cloud9 application
     • Add connection to user's layout via Edit Layout in the Users section.
