Cloud9: Managing Button Layouts for Users

Firm Admins can give each trader access to a variety of communications services supported by the Cloud9 service like PSTN, trader voice, Hoot, Intercom, audio broadcast, counterparty broadcast and Dynamic Intercom. In a similar way to traditional voice trading systems, Admins can give users access to provisioned services by assigning buttons to each user on their Cloud9 button layout. Access a user’s virtual button layout

Admins can pre-provision a user’s Cloud9 button layout from the Cloud9 Admin Portal so that the user’s software and hardware are already set up on their first login.

  1. Go to the Cloud9 Admin Portal and log in with your Cloud9 credentials.

  2. Select the Users tab.

Hover over a user account row in the table and click the Edit Buttons button at the end of the row to open the Manage Buttons page.

Provision a user’s button layout

You can provision a user’s button layout from the table under the button layout. The table is organized in six tabs for:

  • Connections: Shoutdowns, Ringdowns, Intercom, Hoots, and Cloud Dial Tone.
  • Extensions: line appearances for extensions.
  • Speed Dials
  • Audio Broadcast
  • Group Broadcast
  • SIP Dynamic Intercom

Search for connections or extensions to provision or move

The easiest way to find a connection is to filter the table, either by button label, page, connection ID, etc.:

  1. Enter your search item in one of the filter fields below each column header.

For example, enter the page number under the Page column header to filter the table and display only the connections on that page, or the button label under the Default Button Label column header to find the right connection right away.

Add a button to a layout

Click the checkbox to the left of a connection to add it to the first available spot on a layout

Position a button on a specific layout page

The following steps take you through the provisioning process of a connection to be placed on page 4 in position 2.

  1. Select the Connections tab in the table below the button layout.
  2. Check the connection in the table via the left Checkbox.

The button is automatically added to the first available button position on the user’s layout without the need to save the layout. You can then place it to any other position.

  1. Click the page dropdown menu in the Page column and enter the page and position as 4-2 for page 4 and position 2.
  2. Select the Save Layout button in the top right corner to apply any of your changes.

Provisioned connections appear in yellow in the table, whereas connections that have not been added to the button layout remain grayed out.

Cloud9 users will see your changes on their Cloud9 button layout upon their next login.
