Status issue on Symphony Desktop Application (SDA) 9 or above

In Symphony Desktop Client (SDA) 9 or above, using a pod URL at installation that is different from the pod URL used on a day-to-day basis can cause issues displaying the correct status in the Symphony user status indicator (Figure 1):

To resolve this, the SDA must use the correct pod URL in the contextOriginUrl parameter in the Symphony configuration file. This parameter allows users to whitelist the pod url. Only the whitelisted web page can communicate with SDA, removing the root cause of the incorrect status issue.

Amend the contextOriginUrl parameter in the Symphony configuration file by following these steps:

1. Open the Symphony configuration file

2. Amend the contextOriginUrl parameter to your pod URL (Figure 2):

Note: Replace xxx with your company pod name

3. Save the configuration file and close it

4. Restart Symphony and check the status indicator performance. Refer to this knowledge article to learn how Symphony statuses should perform

If the issue persists after you reopen Symphony, please contact Symphony Support at support@symphony.com and inform them that you are experiencing issues with your status indicator.
