Presence status issue on Symphony Desktop Application (SDA) 9 or above

In the Symphony Desktop application (SDA) version 9 or above, using a pod URL at installation that is different from the pod URL used on a day-to-day basis can cause issues displaying an incorrect presence status (Figure 1):

To resolve this, the SDA must use the correct pod URL in the contextOriginUrl parameter in the Symphony configuration file. This parameter allows users to whitelist a specific pod URL. Only the whitelisted web page can communicate with the SDA, removing the root cause of the incorrect presence status.

Amend the contextOriginUrl parameter in the Symphony configuration file by following these steps:

1. Open the Symphony configuration file.

2. Amend the contextOriginUrl parameter to your pod URL (Figure 2):

3. Save the configuration file and close it.

4. Restart Symphony and check the presence status is working correctly.

If the issue persists after you reopen Symphony, please contact the Symphony Support team at support@symphony.com and inform them that you are experiencing issues with your presence status.
