Symphony screen sharing issue on a Mac device

When trying to screen share Symphony on a Mac device, the host screen might not be visible to participants. The most likely cause of this is the Symphony Desktop Application (SDA) preventing screen sharing via the Security & Privacy policies.

In order to screen share, the user will need to grant access to the SDA.

This can be done in one of the following 2 ways:

  1. If you want to initiate a screen share:
    1. Select Open System Preferences in the popup window that is displayed:

    1. Select Privacy, navigate to the Screen Recording section and then select the Symphony checkbox:

    1. Once completed, close this window, refresh the SDA and then attempt another screen share. 
  1. Alternatively, navigate directly to the same location below and select the Symphony checkbox from there:
