How to obtain SDA installation logs for Windows

Obtain the Symphony Desktop Application (SDA) installation logs for Windows only by running the installer from the command line.

The syntax required is as follows :

msiexec /i [installer name] /l [log file name]

For example, if the installer name was Symphony-Win64-9.1.3-576.msi and the log file name was Syminstall.log, the syntax would read:

msiexec /i Symphony-Win64-9.1.3-576.msi /l*vx Syminstall.log

Note: Additionally, paths can be appended before the installer and the log file location

Additional syntax available for the 'l' log options are:

i - Status messages
w - Nonfatal warnings
e - All error messages
a - Start up of actions
r - Action-specific records
u - User requests
c - Initial UI parameters
m - Out-of-memory or fatal exit information
o - Out-of-disk-space messages
p - Terminal properties
v - Verbose output
x - Extra debugging information
+ - Append to existing log file
! - Flush each line to the log
* - Log all information, except for v and x options
