To communicate with multiple external companies in one chat room (multi-lateral chat), you must enable several pod-level and user-level entitlements.
Note: The following changes require Super Administrator privileges.
- Enable the following pod-level entitlements in the Edit Entitlements menu of the Admin Portal:
-
- Can create multi-lateral room.
- Can join multi-lateral room.
- Set the New User Default column to Yes or No depending on your internal process.
-
- Yes enables multi-lateral entitlements for any new users by default.
- No disables multi-lateral entitlements.
- Enable the following user-level entitlements in the Entitlements menu of the Admin Portal.
-
- Can create multi-lateral room.
- Can join multi-lateral room.
Note: Once complete, the companies with which you wish to communicate must enable the same entitlements. If they don't, multi-lateral chat will not be possible with those companies.
-
In addition to the above, you will need to enable an external multi-lateral room. When creating an external chat room to communicate with multiple external companies, enable the Multiple outside companies checkbox.
- Once all of the above is completed, add the required multi-lateral enabled members to the room to communicate with multiple external companies in one chat room.
